Outpacker is a travel gear advisory website that helps travellers research destinations, build packing lists and discover suitable equipment. Some links on our website are affiliate links. This disclosure explains what that means and how affiliate relationships may affect the content you see.
In short: if you follow an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, Outpacker may receive a commission from the retailer or affiliate network. This does not normally increase the price you pay.

1. What affiliate links are
An affiliate link is a trackable link to a product, service or retailer. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may record that the visit came from Outpacker.
If you then make a qualifying purchase or complete another qualifying action, Outpacker may receive a commission or referral payment. There is normally no additional cost to you.
Not every product, retailer link or recommendation on Outpacker is necessarily an affiliate link.
2. How affiliate content is identified
Where the commercial nature of content is not already obvious, we aim to identify affiliate advertising clearly before you interact with it. Labels may include “Ad”, “Advertisement” or a clear statement that a link is an affiliate link and that Outpacker may earn a commission.
If an article, guide, comparison, social post or other piece of content is wholly based on affiliate-linked products, the content should be identified as advertising before you open or engage with it. Where only certain products or links are affiliate advertising, those products, sections or links should be identified individually.
This disclosure page provides additional information, but it is not intended to replace clear labels displayed with affiliate content.
3. Affiliate partners and networks
Outpacker may work with affiliate networks and retailer programmes including:
- Awin;
- Impact;
- ShareASale;
- Mountain Warehouse; and
- Salomon UK.
Our affiliate relationships may change over time. A retailer or network appearing in this list does not mean that every link to that business is an affiliate link or that the relationship is active in every country.
4. How affiliate relationships affect recommendations
We aim to make recommendations that are relevant to the destination, conditions, activity or packing requirement being discussed. However, affiliate availability and commercial relationships may influence which products, retailers or links we are able to feature and how prominently they are presented.
Receiving a commission does not guarantee a positive review or recommendation. We do not promise that a featured product is the cheapest, best or only suitable option available.
You should compare products, prices, specifications, availability and retailer terms before purchasing. Product information can change, so the external retailer's current listing and checkout information should be checked before placing an order.
5. Kit Builder recommendations
The Kit Builder uses automated and artificial intelligence tools to generate packing suggestions and product recommendations from the information you provide.
Kit Builder results may include affiliate products or links from which Outpacker could earn a commission. Where required, the commercial nature of those recommendations should be made clear before you follow the relevant link.
Kit Builder results are general suggestions and may not account for every aspect of your trip, health, activities, weather or personal circumstances. Check current information and confirm that a product is suitable before buying it.
6. Purchases from external retailers
Clicking an affiliate link normally takes you to an independent retailer's website. If you complete payment there:
- the external retailer, not Outpacker, is the seller;
- your purchase contract is with that retailer;
- the retailer sets the price, availability, delivery and warranty terms; and
- the retailer's cancellation, return, refund, privacy and other policies apply.
Outpacker cannot access, change, cancel, return or refund an order placed with an external retailer. Contact the retailer named on your order confirmation or receipt if you need assistance.
7. Affiliate tracking and cookies
When you follow an affiliate link, limited information may be shared with the retailer and affiliate network. This can include an affiliate or campaign identifier, the referring page, the time of the click and information needed to attribute a later purchase to Outpacker.
Affiliate partners may use cookies or similar technologies for attribution. Where consent is required, non-essential affiliate or marketing cookies should not be placed until you have made an appropriate cookie choice.
More information is available in our Privacy Policy. You can review or change your non-essential cookie choices using the Cookie settings link in the website footer.
8. Products sold directly by Outpacker
Some products may be purchased directly through the Outpacker checkout. A direct purchase is not an affiliate purchase: the order confirmation identifies Outpacker as the seller and our store policies apply.
For direct purchases, review our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy.
9. Questions
Outpacker is operated by Benjamin Morbey, trading as Outpacker, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.
